This is the list of beauty products I cannot live without!
Aveeno Positively Radiant/ Ultra Calming Cleanser & Daily Moisturizer
To start my list, you should start with a clean & well balanced canvas to apply your makeup. Finding the right cleanser and moisturizer is important because if your skin is smooth it becomes a lot easier to apply foundation. I am still discovering all that Aveeno offers in their face care lines, but so far these two lines are my favourite. I do have dry-normal skin, and these products make my face feel moisturized, supple, and smooth after.
The Postively Radiant line evens out my skin tones, while the Ultra Calming restores moisture I lost during the day. I use the Ultra Calming line when my skin is at it’s best and the Positively Radiant line when I need something stronger to make my skin feel more brighter. I would suggest using the Ultra Calming line before trying anything else, and see if that line does enough for you. If you need more results, try the Positively Radiant.
I also use the Make-up Remover Cleanser for days when I wear heavy makeup! This stuff will get it all off.
I switched so many brands before on cleanser and moisturizers, and I always found a lot of brands out there dry out my skin, irritate it, clog my pores, or do absolutely nothing! I am so happy to discover Aveeno, and I highly suggest it.
MAC Pro Longwear Foundation & Studio Fix Powder + Foundation
I always seem to go back to MAC products when it comes to foundation and powder. I may venture off to try other brands, I always find that MAC will have the exact colour I need for every season, and is one of the best quality makeup for face. Although, Kat Von D is my absolute favourite, I can only find a match in the summer when I am really tanned! If you are lucky enough to get a match with that brand, choose Kat Von D above all else!
When I use the MAC Pro Longwear Foundation and Studio Fix Powder + Foundation together, it creates the perfect canvas to apply makeup. I do not need to use a primer with this combination. This combination will last all day, and I only need to touch up on the powder for the night time. This combination will have a fuller coverage together, which is perfect when you are stressing out and end up breaking out! I can actually go without a concealer when I use this combination. It may feel heavier to some, so if you are looking to test this out, I would suggest sampling it to see if it’s too much for you.
I also find the Studio Fix works really well with Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup. This combination also last all day and even lasted during the hot weather of Dominican Republic! So, if you are looking for the perfect make-up for a resort trip and you cannot live without coverage, I strongly suggest this combination! I do not however, recommend Estee Lauder with those who have dry skin – in the winter this will be your worst enemy! Which is why Estee Lauder does not make my favourite list – but, test it out for yourself if you don’t have dry skin.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
This will ensure your eyeshadow stays all night. I have tried only a few other eye-shadow primers, but so far Urban Decay works the best. I bought the full size tube, and this stuff lasts for years! You only need to use a very small amount at a time. About three years of having it, and I still have a few months worth left.
Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
I love how long these eyeshadows last and how pigmented they are! Kat Von D palettes and the Lorac Pro Palette would have made this list, but the Urban Decay has a lot more eyeshadow colour options for my skin tone. I do switch between these three brands when doing my makeup looks, but I stick to UD mostly. I also use the Buck on UD to fill my eyebrows – so that is always an added bonus!
NYX Powder Blush
I have had this for a few years, and I have yet to find a blush, at this price, that works as well! Again, this product last all day/night – just reapply before heading out for the night. My go-to colour is Rose Garden.
Baby Lips by Maybelline
I always bite my lips, and as a result my lips get dry quickly. Baby Lips is one of the only drug store balms that actually restore moisture to very dry lips! eos is terrible at this, I keep thinking it will work and always get disappointed.
Cherry Me has a great tint to it, which is great when you are at work and don’t want an overbearing colour. I use Quenched as soon as I get up, so when I am ready to apply my lipstick for the day, my lips will be ready. If I do not put this on well before applying lipstick, than my lips will be way too moist to apply lipstick evenly.
I am still on the hunt for the best concealer and mascara. Let me know your suggestions!
